Typographic Work
Center for Enlightened Business
A simple project developing one sheets for public speakers. Even simple projects require attention to detail
Enigma Alphabet
This alphabet experiment began as a thought about how different the symbols that we use to represent the same sounds can be. To make this alphabet, I created very basic sanserif letters, then superimposed hand drawn cursive letters over top of them. I then inked in where they overlapped, alternating negative and positive spaces.
Typographic Mural
A design for a mural illustrating basic typographic terminology. Plus fun with scale, distance, and figure/ground relationships.
Pete for President
While creating the advertising collateral for a political campaign, the thing that strikes you is how little you have to work with. You have very little space and very few words to convey fairly complex feelings and ideas about a candidate. Everything about how text is handled is really important when you only have room for 4 or 5 words, and images must be extremely simple and easily understood if they are likely seen from a moving car.
